About FIRST LIGHT

FIRST LIGHT is an independent streetwear label from Melbourne, Australia.

The name comes from the hour before the day starts — the part nobody sees and nobody applauds. We're less interested in saying that out loud than in making clothing that reflects it: considered, restrained, built to be worn for years rather than a season.

Drop 001 is two garments. That's deliberate. We'd rather release a small number of pieces we've obsessed over than a catalogue we haven't.

The garments

Every piece is embroidered, not printed.

The FIRST LIGHT marks are stitched directly into the fabric. Embroidery costs more than a print and takes longer to produce, but it doesn't crack, peel or fade with washing, and it gives the garment a texture you notice before you read anything.

Both pieces in Drop 001 are 100% cotton, cut oversized with dropped shoulders.

The Dawn Tee is acid washed, with a ribbed collar and a structured drape that holds its shape.

The Dawn Hoodie is built heavy — self-lined hood, kangaroo pocket, ribbed cuffs and hem.

How it's made

Designed in Melbourne. Manufactured overseas by a specialist embroidery producer. Packed and shipped by hand from Melbourne.

What we control is the specification, the fit and the finish.

Drops

Releases are small and numbered. Drop 001 is a limited run, and when a size sells out it may not return.

That's not a marketing device — it's a consequence of being a young label that would rather sell through something considered than sit on stock of something ordinary.
